Honkai: Star Rail on a phone: the download is the hard part

Most advice about running a big-name gacha RPG on a phone assumes the problem is your processor. For Honkai: Star Rail that is usually the wrong worry, and the distinction saves people from writing off a device that would have been fine.

Turn-based is the important word

Combat here resolves in turns. Nothing depends on you reacting inside a frame, which means a lower or unstable frame rate costs you presentation rather than performance. A phone that makes an action game genuinely unplayable will often run this at a perfectly acceptable standard once you turn the graphics settings down.
